Lime: it’s better for buildings – and for the environment

Church insurance risk

You need to ensure that reasonable precautions are in place at your church to keep it safe for those who use it. To do this, you need to think about what might cause harm to people.

You will then need to decide if the precautions already in place are adequate. If they are not, you may need to identify further action to prevent any danger. When done formally, this is known as a risk assessment.

National Trust Garden Collection wins Chelsea award with debut stand

A stand showcasing the National Trust’s Garden Collection has been awarded a certificate of merit for its outstanding presentation at this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
The stand, which was designed by London College of Garden Design graduate Louise Harries, features structures including a summer house, green house and garden shed - which form part of the Trust’s first ever garden collection - together with a planting scheme including heritage fruit trees and long grasses.
The styling of the structures against the planting scheme won the eye of the judges to give the National Trust stand this prestigious award out of over 50 trade stands showcasing at Chelsea.

Garden designer Louise Harries said:
'I am really thrilled to have received this award for my design of the National Trust Garden Collection stand. It’s been a pleasure to work with such a quality range of products to create a final look I was delighted with.
I was inspired by the Trust’s vision to be accessible for everyone and it has paid off by receiving this accolade.'
Phillippa Green, Brand Licensing Manager for the National Trust, said:
'This award proves the hard work both Louise and the licensees of the National Trust Garden Collection have gone to, to produce and then showcase the best in British design and craftsmanship. I am so pleased the Collection has been recognised in its first year at Chelsea Flower Show.'
Nine British companies have come together to form the National Trust Garden Collection, offering a range of gardening items from summerhouses to spades, sales of which generate income for the Trust’s conservation work including that of its gardens.
The collection – which includes products from Alitex Greenhouses, Crane Sheds, Gaze Burvill outdoor furniture, Oak Leaf Gates, Scotts of Thrapston Summerhouses and Westminster Stone - was launched at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
