A practical look at sound system design, installation and operation in a working venue.

ISCVE’s next Get Ahead event takes place at the Stadium of Light in Sunderland on Thursday 12 November. Running from 11:00am to 3:30pm, with refreshments served from 10:30am, the day offers an opportunity to explore how a venue’s sound requirements are developed into a working system.

Hosted in collaboration with Bose Professional, the programme follows the project from the initial venue brief through system design, installation, integration and commissioning. Attendees will gain an insight into the decisions made at each stage and the practical considerations involved in delivering sound in a large, busy venue.

The day includes a live demonstration and a look at the venue’s experience following handover, bringing together the technical and operational perspectives. A Q&A session will provide an opportunity to ask questions and discuss the project in more detail.

For those involved in sound for churches, historic buildings and other public spaces, the programme offers useful perspectives on shared considerations such as speech intelligibility, audio coverage and meeting different users’ needs. Exploring the complete process, from understanding the brief to operating the finished system, can help inform projects across a range of settings.

Get Ahead also provides an opportunity to meet others working in sound and AV, share experiences and exchange ideas. Lunch and networking are included in the programme. □
