ISCEx2014 hits the right note

Record numbers attended the ISCEx2014, the annual exhibition and seminar event for the ISCE (Institute of Sound and Communications Engineers), which proved a big hit at its new venue in Birmingham City Centre on 4 & 5 March.

One exhibitor, Kevin Sherwood, vowed to return after successfully launching a new range of products. Kevin, 2N Product Manager/Field Sales Director of CIE Group, said: “ISCEx2014 was an excellent opportunity for CIE to launch the 2N Telecommunications portfolio of IP Audio streaming devices and IP Intercoms. As a supporting member of the ISCE, this was the perfect chance to show the new range to customers old and new and gather their ideas and comments on the relative new market of Audio over IP.

“We were not disappointed. As always, the members of the Institute voiced their opinions, shared their experiences and discussed their possible projects with us over the evening network meal and the exhibition the following day.

“This leads us to one simple conclusion. CIE has been unable to attend a number of these exhibitions over the last few years for one reason or another. That is something we will address. Roll on ISCEx2015!!”

Visitor, Alex Krasnic, Director of ASK Acoustics, said: “All of this year's seminars were thoroughly absorbing and educational and perfectly underpinned the positive atmosphere experienced by all those attending the exhibition."

Matt Cook, Business Development Manager at Fuzion who was also exhibiting, said: "A very productive and positive show this year, with new potential clients attending from a variety of professional audio markets."

Institute President Anthony Smith hailed the success of the event. He said: “ISCEx2014 was a memorable event, with an excellent seminar programme to educate our visitors.  In the exhibition hall, we had an array of specialist suppliers who took the opportunity to promote their new and exciting products.

“It was my privilege to award two of our new supporting members, Honeywell and Ambient Systems, with their plaques and to thank them for supporting our Institute. The ISCE is all about training and education and this type of event proves invaluable in this context, while still allowing plenty of time to socialise and network.”

Anthony added: “Already in preparation, ISCEx2015 looks to be in good shape, and adding to the networking dinner we introduced this year, we are integrating the AGM and Warren Barnett memorial lecture.  If you missed this year, come next time and see what all the fuss was about.”

The date for ISCEx2015 will be announced very soon.

The ISCE is a professional organisation for those working in the public address, voice alarm, sound system, audio frequency induction loop system, audio-video, acoustics, or any other such sector in the sound and communications industry.
