Founder, Stuart Welch, had the vision to establish an ethical company with a positive philosophy dedicated to creative, open-minded design and products that would answer the needs of all areas of cultural preservation. Over twenty seven years on, those values still remain the cornerstone of the CXD business.

In 2007 CXD was acquired by Larson Juhl, the UK’s leading supplier of mouldings and mountboard to the art and framing market. This move provided the support, investment and resources needed to help develop the company, improve its customer service and explore some exciting new product opportunities.

At our factories in Milton Keynes, CXD design and manufacture the world’s largest range of acid-free archival storage boxes and a growing range of conservation-grade polyester pockets. Our range of papers and boards includes everything from the finest Japanese and European handmade papers and high quality museum mounting boards to storage and repair papers. To complement the core product range CXD also offer numerous sundry items including adhesives, tapes and small tools.
