The National Federation of Roofing Contractors has announced the finalists in this year’s Excellence in Roofing Awards, including the popular Heritage category. The finalists have been selected based on demonstrated quality workmanship, technical difficulties encountered, problem solving, environmental qualities and aesthetics.
NFRC chief executive Ray Horwood CBE said: “NFRC would like to thank all trade and associate members who took the time to enter the Excellence in Roofing Awards. We have received a very wide range of entries of some truly magnificent projects. The companies short-listed can be truly proud to be listed as finalists” The judging panel this year comprised Ian Grimshaw, Master of the Worshipful Company of Tylers & Bricklayers; Nick Edwards, editor of Construction News; Dr Paul Blackmore, Associate Director of BRE, and Alan Williamson, director of Michael Kilbey Associates. The finalists in the Heritage category were: • J Wright Roofing Ltd, for Victoria Law Courts (Midlands region) • Hodgson & Allon Ltd for Rockcliffe Hall (Yorkshire and North East) • Specialist Roofing Services Ltd for St. Leonard’s Hospital (London & Southern Counties) • Karl Terry Roofing Contractors for Lye Green House (London & Southern Counties) • Karl Terry Roofing Contractors for Peenes Wood (London & Southern Counties) A number of other projects in the ecclesiastical and heritage sector were selected in other categories. They were: • M Camilleri & Sons Roofing for St Methodist Church Hall (South West) and Haydock Slating Limited for the Church of the Holy Name (North West), in the Slating category. • Skyline Roofing (Kingston) Ltd for Holy Trinity Church (London & Southern Counties), in the Tiling category. • Gable (UK) Ltd for Bovington Tank Museum (London and Southern Counties), in the Roof Sheeting category. • Lead Tech Roofing Ltd for Toddington Manor (London & Southern Counties) and Acorn (Lead Roofing) for Bandstands (London & Southern Counties), in the Fully-supported Metal Roofing category. • Miller Roofing Ltd for the National Galleries of Scotland (Scotland), in the Single Ply category. The Excellence in Roofing award winners will be announced at the NFRC Annual Congress Awards Lunch on 15 May at The International Centre Telford. |
