Magnificent mansions from John Williams Roofing and Cembrit

Cembrit, specialist supplier of both natural and fibre cement slates, has supplied Jutland slates for a set of apartments in the heart of Folkestone, Kent. This refurbishment required a new roof to complement the existing exterior design and the company’s Jutland slates provided the perfect combination of a traditional yet fresh appearance.

The 2,500 fibre-cement slates were installed on this large five storey property by local contractor, John Williams & Company. With the roof featuring slopes at different pitches with a number of hips, the new slates needed to be easy to cut to sit securely on these various details. Cembrit’s Jutland range of fibre cement slates perfectly fitted the bill. Available in 3 standard sizes with 60x60cm and 50x50cm doubles Jutland fibre cement slates allow even the most complex of roofs to be installed in compliance with British Standard Codes of Practise and Building Regulations. Jutland is a consistent and lightweight, square edged fibre cement slate, manufactured to the highest European standards. Jutland slates come pre-holed, are easy to handle and install, Jutland slate is the economic alternative to natural roofing materials.

“We have worked with Cembrit many times in the past and have always liked their service as well as the slates available,” says Shaun Howland, Estimator at John Williams & Company. “In fact, this project was originally specified with a different company; however we specifically requested Cembrit slates be used, as we are familiar with the range and knew that the lightweight Jutland slates would be perfect for this job.”
